The new RP 480i Remote Panel was recently commissioned in a high-speed vessel set for South Korea, monitoring and controlling four drivelines with amazing power output. The commissioning took place at the Incat shipyard in Tasmania, Hobart, an island south of Melbourne in Australia. This quiet island with historical districts, narrow lanes, and colonial-era cottages is the backdrop for this wicked high-speed ferry build.

The ferry, built by InCat, will operate between Jindo and Jeju Island 60 nautical miles off the eastern coast of South Korea. Powered by four Caterpillar C280s, the 76 meters long ferry will reach speeds up to 46 knots, about twice the speed of a family cabin cruiser. Four RP 480i were installed in the engine compartment to overlook the engine health.

Incat Tasmania chief executive Tim Burnell said; “At Incat we are fortunate to have the best quality, most highly experienced workforce in the global fast-ferry industry, and we are pleased to add this new vessel to those recently delivered to our customers around the world.” (source: Riviera)

We at Auto-Maskin congratulate InCat and Seaworld Express Ferry with the new vessel. We are proud to deliver into this high-quality build.
