Challenging but interesting times in the offshore market these days; OSJ conference provided some excellent opportunities and insight! What about making a PSV into a self-contained, mobile power station?

Everyone is well aware of the current oversupply of vessels, particularly in the PSV and OSV segments, but this has led to a number of ideas to repurpose these vessels, and one of those many (and sometimes truly imaginative!) proposals sit very neatly within the core value package that Auto-Maskin provides. The proposal is to mount several large diesel generators onto the deck of a PSV, add a deckhouse, shore connection, and potentially additional tankage, to provide a self-contained, mobile power station.

With the majority of PSV’s already equipped with Auto-Maskin DCU’s, the addition of a power management component such as the LSU 408, a stand-alone power management system and or complete vessel management system under Marine View is a simple, cost-effective method of realising this concept.  Auto-Maskin could also add control of any existing onboard generating capacity to the output.  Having completely renewed the power/emergency power equipment for AVINOR, the company which manages air traffic control for Scandinavia, we have expert teams, well proven!
