Whilst developed for the marine environment, the DCU 210E has attracted interest and sales from across a wide range of industries. The features and benefits of this unit make it a great fit in other demanding applications. One such installation is with CokeBusters, a company that specializes in cleaning pipework associated with furnaces and fire tubes.
The process employs a “pig” driven by high pressure hydraulics moving through soiled pipework. The hydraulics are driven by large Scania diesel engines, trailer mounted, and these are absolutely critical to the success of the operation.
To provide the additional oversight and protection of these engines, Auto-Maskin DCU 210E panels were selected by Scania GB and Cokebusters. Using the DCU 210E meant that the full set of information broadcast by the engine ECM was available to the operators and Scania GB technicians, ensuring correct installation and operation, and providing early warning in case of excessive loads or adverse running conditions. As it can be imagined, uptime is very critical in this sort of operation.
