Auto-Maskin DCU 210E and DCU 410E engine controllers can now control Volvo Penta engines with EMS 2.0, 2.2 and 2.3 software equipped ECM’s. This increases accuracy, simplifies installation and wiring, provides consistent control strategies for Volvo specifiers, and finally provides Volvo generating set makers a modern local panel solution.

The range of DCUs within the Marine Pro range can connect with most engine ECMs today, but there are one or two where the engine makers have a proprietary strategy. One of these engine makers is Volvo Penta. Working directly with Volvo Application engineers, Auto-Maskin has added a dedicated interface to the setup of the DCU, so that the DCU can connect directly to the ECM over the CAN bus. The interface is set up without special tools or software, and follows the simple drop-down box methodology employed already within the unit. “Start”, “Stop” can be activated via the facia of the DCU, or remote connectors, “Speed control” via either screen or remote inputs, and “Requested throttle percentage” functions can be accessed directly through the DCU.

With this addition, generating set makers now have the added benefits of Auto-Maskin controllers to add to the list of features benefiting their customers. Simple installation and configuration, multiple languages built in, no special tools or software, easy connection to remote panels, 7 IACS Approvals for DCU 410E, High-resolution colour screens with icon-based navigation plus touchscreens on some models, the benefits are key compared to small monochrome displays.

The Auto-Maskin team can assist you in aligning current builds to the new panels, we can also provide custom built solutions including full cabinet design and manufacturer. Give us a call!
