Auto-Maskin AS has been awarded a contract to deliver engine and generator controls to Acta Auriga, a DP-2 classed Construction Support Vessel (CSV) for the offshore wind industry. The vessel is being built at Ulstein Verft, one of the leading shipyards in the Norwegian maritime cluster.

Auto-Maskin’s customer and partner for many years, the Norwegian Caterpillar marine dealer Pon Power AS, proves their confidence in Auto-Maskin solutions in this project: The delivery will, in addition to the engine control & safety system for the vessel’s diesel generators, consist of a complete system for generator load sharing and synchronising. This part of the delivery will be based on the Auto-Maskin LSU 408 Loadshare and Synchroniser Unit.

“Deliveries like these are important to us, where valuable customers like Pon Power decides to utilise more of A-M’s product range, giving us the opportunity to streamline our products, as well as our working methods, and it’s of course exciting to be appreciated as a vendor in this segment of the marine industry. In addition to the engineering phase, we will also give the necessary support during commissioning, to make sure both Pon Power and Acta Marine are in the best position to operate and service the vessel after handover.” says electrical engineer and customer responsible for Pon Power, Tomas Bahr Sandmo in Auto-Maskin.

Pål Erik Ruen, Product Manager in Pon Power, adds that “the controllers from Auto-Maskin stand out as robust and flexible, and we appreciate the MCS-certified engine control solution based on the DCU 410E and the SDU 410. We are very happy with our projects with these systems so far. To add the Auto-Maskin LSU 408 for load sharing and synchronising to the scope gives us one contact point for support for the entire control system, and we expect that the system integration across this product line gives us, as well as the end customer, a big advantage.”

Auto-Maskin AS is happy with the decision and wishes the parties involved all the best with the project.
