Marine Team Engineers meet in UKFrom left to right we have the leader Svein Arild Hagnæss, Henning Bredesen, Jonas Kjærnli and far right, Johan Laake. The team were in the UK to discuss the highly successful recent launch of the Marine Pro range of Diesel engine controllers and vessel alarm system components, and to work on the next level of improvements. The two day meeting was planned to coincide with the culmination of several events that Auto-Maskin has attended to understand the reaction from the market to the MarinePro launch.
Svein Arild commented:
"The response we got from our customers both old and new during the launch of Marine Pro at Norshipping was that the Marine Pro was exactly what they were looking for in terms of modularity and connectability, but they wanted more options on the type and number of sensors that could be incorporated. We are meeting here with our Sales team to help us understand this better and this will potentially lead to a series of add-on modules to address that need."
The young dynamic team of Engineers are all very experienced in the field of Engine Controllers, and more importantly vessel integration. Each are capable of designing purpose built cabinets to integrate the Marine Pro or MarinePlus components seamlessly into a vessel's wiring and information infrastructure, with the minimum of complexity, cost and interaction during installation and commisioning.
Jonas Kjærnli was especially pleased with the work the team had done regarding the self configuring feature:
"So many times were heard our customers tell us about the difficulties of getting the same setup loaded into different elements of a system. We already had a Class leading system with our MarinePlus range, using the Rudolf free access software, but we wanted something better. By building a web server into each major component, your web browser on your laptop became the configuring tool, and some very simple software allowed that configuration to be passed from the DCU to all elements of the system automatically. We even allowed over 40 standard files to be held in the DCU so there was not even any need to configure at startup unless specific needs were required outside of the normal UMS Classed Notations!"
Since the early 70's Auto-Maskin has been consistently leading innovation in the Marine Marketplace, obsoleting their own products with equipment building upon the feedback from their customers, and increasing the focus on quality, functional excellence and compliance to global standards. The team today are no different! |
